YOUTH LINKS

Two thousand years ago Jesus Christ instituted the Catholic priesthood to continue his ministry here on earth. Since then the Church has ordained men to serve God and his people, recognising that some roles within the Christian community can only be performed by a priest. The priesthood is a sacrament and a ministry that is vital and irreplaceable. It is also a vocation - a calling Christ gives to those he wants to follow him in a life of love expressed in service. In these pages we try to give you some idea of the life and ministry of a diocesan priest in the Catholic Church.

Youth 2000 - is an independent, international initiative that helps young adults aged 16-35 plug back into God at the heart of the Roman Catholic Church.

Catholic Youth Service- On behalf of the Bishop's of England and Wales the CYS support the catholic youth ministry community.

Xt3 - Since its launch in 2004 Xt3.com has built an online global youth community promoting gospel values. Its relaunch in 2008 as the official social networking site for WYD Sydney 2008 and beyond will connect you to a Faith based community, bringing the Gospel of Christ into the Third Millennium.

Sion Community - Lots of stuff going on for young people including mission team, leadership training and youth programme for gap year students.


Youth Cafe- 6 sessions based around DVDs. Explore your faith....ask questions....have fun!

Young Christian Workers - an organisation which links groups of young people/young adults together through friendship, formation and action.

Youth SVP - Youth SVP is a voluntary Christian organisation. When you join a Youth SVP group, you volunteer to offer one-to-one help and support to people in need in the local community.
